Our Douglas is knitted at 12 gauge: smooth and close, made to sit neatly under a jacket. The Fraser drops to 8 gauge with a relaxed tension, so each stitch has a little more room. The cashmere fills that space and traps air, which means the warmth comes from loft, not bulk.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 4-ply yarn gives it body, and Todd \u0026amp; Duncan's 35 mm staple keeps an open knit strong and less prone to pilling.
