Todd & Duncan Scottish Cashmere Yarn
8-ply Todd & Duncan cashmere, 15.5 microns at 35mm staple, spun in Kinross with Loch Leven water.
Eight-ply means eight strands of yarn twisted together, the heaviest weight we offer and the reason this cardigan carries real structure rather than draping like a lighter knit.
Todd & Duncan has spun cashmere in Kinross since 1867, and the mineral soft water drawn from Loch Leven is part of why their yarn takes dye so evenly and finishes so cleanly, a difference the world's most storied fashion houses have relied on for generations.
Grade-A fibre means only the longest, finest hairs from the goat's undercoat make the cut, hand sorted for length and softness before spinning even begins.
At this weight that quality matters more, not less: a heavier yarn spun from lesser fibre turns coarse, while this one stays soft under all that substance.
