The Douglas 4-Ply Cashmere V-Neck Sweater
The single malt Scotch of sweaters.
Warmth without bulk, luxury without pretension. The Douglas is knitted in Hawick, Scotland from 100% Todd & Duncan Grade A cashmere, spun in Kinross. Its 4-ply, 12-gauge knit has noticeably more body and warmth than a conventional 2-ply sweater, yet stays trim enough to wear under a jacket.
The V-neck sits deep enough to look relaxed over a T-shirt and high enough to frame a shirt collar. Fully fashioned construction keeps the neckline flat, and saddle shoulders follow the natural line of the shoulder with less bulk than a set-in sleeve. Ribbed trim, turn-back cuffs and our small gold intarsia on the left side of the waistband finish it.
It gets better the more you wear it, settling into your shape and softening with each wash.

Why 4-Ply Matters
Four strands of cashmere are plied together before knitting, producing a denser fabric than a standard 2-ply. In the Douglas that means more warmth, better shape retention and a fuller drape, while the 12-gauge knit keeps the surface smooth enough to layer under a blazer or coat.
Fiber matters as much as ply. At about 15.5 microns, Todd & Duncan's Grade A cashmere is exceptionally soft, and its 35 mm staple adds strength and means less pilling over time. Learn more about what 4-ply cashmere means and how it compares to lighter and heavier knits.

A LUXURY FABRIC THAT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE
Todd & Duncan Scottish Cashmere Yarn
4-ply Grade-A Todd & Duncan cashmere, 15.5 microns in diameter, 35mm in staple length.
Four-ply means four individual strands of yarn twisted together before knitting, for a noticeably denser knit than a standard two-ply sweater.
Kinross-spun, finished with Loch Leven water.
Built for real cold-weather warmth without losing the clean line of a v-neck.

OVER 200 YEARS OF HISTORY
Built by experience for all life’s experiences
Full-fashioned knitting keeps the v-seam sharp instead of bunching at the lapel, a technique refined in Hawick over more than two centuries of Scottish knitwear craft.
The Douglas is cut with a saddle shoulder, where the sleeve runs up and over the shoulder point to meet the collar in a single diagonal seam, rather than the bulkier seam of a standard set-in sleeve, a detail that takes real skill to execute cleanly.
The result sits flatter under a blazer and moves more freely at the shoulder.
Knitted in Hawick, where water drawn from the River Teviot is used in the finishing process.
