Why 2-Ply Matters
Two strands of cashmere are plied together before knitting. Knitted at 12 gauge, that gives a fine, smooth fabric with real warmth for its weight: trim enough to sit over a collared shirt without bulk.
At about 15.5 microns, Todd & Duncan's Grade A fiber is exceptionally soft, and a long staple means a stronger yarn that resists pilling. Read more about what Grade A cashmere means, and how ply and gauge shape a finished sweater.

A LUXURY FABRIC THAT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE
Todd & Duncan Scottish Cashmere Yarn
Two-ply Todd & Duncan cashmere, spun in Kinross from 15.5-micron Grade-A fibre at 35mm staple, finished in Loch Leven water.
Two-ply means two strands of yarn twisted together, the lightest build in the range.
Durability and rich, deep color are Todd & Duncan's hallmarks, the result of more than 150 years spinning cashmere to this specification.
A slightly silkier hand than most cashmere at this weight.

OVER 200 YEARS OF HISTORY
Built by experience for all life’s experiences
Knitted in Hawick, the Scottish Borders town that has called itself the cashmere capital of the world since the eighteenth century, when its soft river water first made it the natural home for the textile trade.
That two hundred years of concentrated skill is still what separates Hawick knitwear from everywhere else.
Works over a collar or equally on its own.
