The Loden 4-Ply Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
The grown-up version of your favorite crewneck, with sweatshirt styling.
The Loden borrows the easy details of a classic sweatshirt and rebuilds them in Scottish cashmere. It is knitted in Hawick, Scotland from 100% Todd & Duncan Grade A cashmere, spun in Kinross, in a 4-ply, 12-gauge knit with more body than a typical fine-gauge crewneck and a smooth, refined surface.
The sweatshirt influence is in the details. Tubular rib cuffs and waistband hold their shape. A V-stitch below the neck, originally there to soak up sweat on old athletic sweatshirts, keeps the look casual over a T-shirt, while saddle shoulders sharpen it up when you need to. Finished with our little bit of gold: the intarsia on the left side of the waistband.
It gets better the more you wear it, settling into your shape and softening with each wash. Put it on and it feels like Saturday afternoon, even on a Monday morning.

Why 4-Ply Matters
A sweatshirt shape needs weight to hang properly. In a lighter cashmere it would drape too softly. Four-ply yarn gives the Loden more warmth, a richer hand and the body to hold its shape, while the 12-gauge knit keeps the surface smooth. The tubular cuffs and waistband add strength where a sweater stretches most.
See how 4-ply compares to lighter and heavier weights in our guide to cashmere ply and gauge.
Fit
A comfortable modern fit, relaxed without being oversized. The saddle shoulder follows your natural shoulder line, and the 4-ply body sits easily rather than clinging. If you are between sizes, the models below are a useful guide.
