Why 2-Ply Matters
Two strands of cashmere are plied together before knitting. Knitted at 12 gauge, that gives a fine, smooth fabric with real warmth for its weight: warm enough on its own, slim enough under a jacket.
At about 15.5 microns, Todd & Duncan's Grade A fiber is exceptionally soft, and a long staple means a stronger yarn that resists pilling. Read more about what Grade A cashmere means, and how ply and gauge shape a finished sweater.
Fit
Tailored but not tight. The cut is generous, so if you are between sizes, take the smaller. Todd, our co-founder, wears a Medium in most brands and a Small in ours. The models below are a useful guide.

A LUXURY FABRIC THAT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE
Todd & Duncan Scottish Cashmere Yarn
Two-ply Todd & Duncan cashmere at the Grade-A standard: 15.5 microns in diameter, 35mm in staple length, the benchmark serious mills work to.
Spun in Kinross with Loch Leven water.
Fine fibre matters most on a v-neck, worn open at the collarbone where lesser cashmere would prickle or itch by midday.

OVER 200 YEARS OF HISTORY
Built by experience for all life’s experiences
Hawick's knitters keep the v-seam flat through full-fashioned construction, each panel shaped on the machine rather than pieced together at a cut-and-sew lapel.
That construction has anchored Scottish knitwear for more than two centuries, and it takes real skill to keep a v-seam this clean at scale.
Water drawn from the River Teviot is used in the finishing process.
Works layered under a jacket or worn alone, and improves from the first wash onward.
