The Errol 4-Ply Cashmere Bomber
4-ply 12-gauge Bomber
Spun by Todd & Duncan cashmere in Kinross · Knitted in Hawick
The bomber jacket, knitted in cashmere.
The bomber started life in 1917 as kit for pilots in open cockpits. The Errol keeps the shape and the rib-trimmed edges, and knits it in 100% Todd & Duncan Grade A cashmere, spun in Kinross and knitted in Hawick, Scotland.
We named it after the Scottish word for a noble man and wanderer: a jacket for people who like to keep moving.
A two-way YKK Excella zip and patch pockets make it a real outer layer over a shirt or a fine sweater.

Why 4-Ply Matters
Four strands of cashmere plied together give a denser fabric than a standard 2-ply: more warmth and more structure, which a jacket needs to hold its shape. The 12-gauge knit keeps the surface smooth.
At about 15.5 microns with a 35 mm staple, the fiber is both soft and strong. Read more about what Grade A cashmere means and how ply and gauge shape a finished garment.
Fit
The cut runs generous. We recommend one size smaller than your usual fit; the models below are a useful guide.

A LUXURY FABRIC THAT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE
Todd & Duncan Scottish Cashmere Yarn
4-ply Todd & Duncan cashmere, 15.5-micron Grade-A fibre at 35mm staple, Kinross-spun with Loch Leven water.
Four-ply means four strands twisted into one yarn, giving the bomber real substance and structure without added bulk, the weight this silhouette needs to hold its shape.
Grade-A means the fibre is longer and finer than standard cashmere grades, which is what allows a piece this substantial to still feel soft against the skin rather than coarse.
Cashmere kept Mongolian herders warm in conditions harsher than any cockpit.

OVER 200 YEARS OF HISTORY
Built by experience for all life’s experiences
Knitted in Hawick, where every panel is shaped on the machine to the finished garment's dimensions rather than cut and sewn afterward, a slower process but one that holds its shape and resists stretching out over years of wear.
Hawick has anchored Scottish cashmere for two centuries, and that concentration of mills and skilled knitters in one town is why the quality control here is tighter than anywhere else the fibre is worked.
Finished with a double-zip closure that works fully closed or layered open over a shirt.
Named for the Scottish word for noble wanderer.
