Why 8-Ply Matters
Eight strands plied together make a thick, dense knit that traps warmth and keeps its shape, which is exactly what a hat needs.
Fine 15.5-micron fiber keeps that density soft rather than scratchy. Read more about what Grade A cashmere means and how ply and gauge change a finished knit.
Fit
One size. The turn-up brim adjusts the fit and how much of your ears it covers.

A LUXURY FABRIC THAT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE
Todd & Duncan Scottish Cashmere Yarn
The same Todd & Duncan Grade-A cashmere as the rest of the range: 15.5-micron fibre at 35mm staple, spun in Kinross with Loch Leven water.
Eight-ply means eight strands of yarn twisted together, the heaviest weight we offer, and on a beanie that translates directly into real density rather than the thin, single-layer knit most cashmere accessories settle for.
Cutting corners on a hat is common in this category; this one is spun to the same standard as our heaviest cardigan.

OVER 200 YEARS OF HISTORY
Built by experience for all life’s experiences
Knitted in Hawick, where generations of skilled knitters have refined the techniques it takes to work a yarn this heavy into a small accessory without it losing shape or turning stiff.
The adjustable brim is knitted and set by hand so it keeps its fit as the cashmere stretches with wear, a level of finishing most beanies never get.
That same attention to detail, carried over from two centuries of Scottish knitwear craft, is why it won't itch and only gets softer with every season.
